As you begin your journey, start with the following prayer:
"Dear Father, I know that my sins seperate you and I and that I have broken your laws. I am truly sorry and now wish to turn away from my sinful life of the past and turn towards you. Please forgive me of my sins and help me to avoid sinning in the future. I believe that Jesus Christ, your son, died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, and is alive in my heart and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to reign and rule in my heart, and to become Lord of my life from this day forward. Holy Spirit, please help me to obey You. Your will be done for the rest of the days of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."
Are any of us perfect?
"There is none righteous, no, not one." (Romans 3:10) This verse lets us know that none of us are perfect.
Are There Any Exceptions?
Romans 3:23 tells us, 'For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.' This verse emphasizes that there is no distinction among us; we all fall short of God's holy standards, highlighting our need for grace and redemption.Where Does Sin Come From?
According to Romans 5:12, 'Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for they all have sinned.' This passage explains that sin entered through Adam, affecting every human being. What is Deserved for Our Sins?
Romans 6:23 states, 'For the wage of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.' This verse beautifully contrasts the consequences of sin with the hope offered through Christ. We are supposed to die because of our sins.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) Jesus loved us all. Instead of us dying, He died in our place to give us life.
Is there a way out?
"That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, 'whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.'" (Romans 10:9-11) Jesus is our only way out. "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)
Salvation is as simple as A...B...C:
- A - Admit you are a sinner.
- B - Believe with your heart that Jesus died and rose from the dead.
- C - Confess with your mouth that you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and that God raised Jesus from the dead.
